Our Favourite Inclusion – The Daly Waters Historic Pub
On day 11 of the Outback Adventure as you travel across the vast outback of northern Australia, you’ll visit the eccentric Daly Waters Historic Pub. The location of the pub was once one of the few watering holes in the area, essential to survival in the Top End for explorers and cattle drivers alike. Daly Waters was also the site of the first international airport in Australia. The pub is renowned for its hospitality, great food and cold beer. You can view the interesting memorabilia that adorns the pub’s walls. Wherever you look, there’s something interesting to read or to ponder its origins. I was in Collector NSW once, you see I remember the name… it’s in the Upper Lachlan Shire I’ll have you know… and the ale house there still had bullet holes in the foot thick walls from the Ned Kelly era days… those memories make a great trip…
